2021 Greetings

Updated: Feb 22, 2021

Happy New Year Everyone!

Sorry I haven’t posted in a very long time. I know I am 2 months late with the New Year Greetings, but I’ve finally made it! LOL. I honestly didn’t know what to write, and had a mental block for quite a while. I’ve been really busy mentally and physically, trying to better myself during these hard times.

I am so glad we got rid of 2020!! It was a horrible year! Nothing worked as planned. Although there were some good moments, the whole year needed to be thrown away ASAP. I am thankful for making it through another year, but I felt as though that one year took decades just to get through. I pray that this year is a better year, and Covid-19 gets under control. I want to get back to my life!! 2021 is a fresh start for everyone. It is a new beginning which means we can start anew. The past is gone, now we have to worry about now, the present.

"Life is not a race, but a journey to be savoured each step of the way. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift. That's why we call it the present."

Things have been difficult for not only me, but everyone. Covid is still here, people are getting sick and people are dying. Knock on wood, thankfully no one in my family and myself have it. 🙏🏾

It is Feb 11th which means it is a special month. Happy Black History Month !! I love being back! Although I’m seen as a visible minority, it still has its perks. I’m so happy Black History is celebrated and recognized! Despite that it’s a short month, it’s still really important to be thankful and for us to recognize how far we’ve gotten.

What have I been up to?

I’ve been trying to keep myself busy on weekends, as during the week I am now working ... full time 🤓👏🏾. I’ve been keeping myself busy on weekends, by painting, dancing, and teaching myself new lessons. I’ve been interested in Sign Language, and massage therapy, so I have been trying to learn lessons and get better at them.

I work at a daycare. I actually just got hired working full time on Jan 25th. I am so thankful I have the opportunity to work full time right now, as many jobs have let people go or layed people off, until further notice. Working in a daycare is definitely not my favourite place to work, but a job is a job and money is money. At Least I don’t have to rely on other people to provide for me, or the government giving me CERB, for me to survive. At first, I was relying on CERB, now I have my own money. Which means I can help out my family, so they don’t have to suffer.

I’ve been very fortunate to be living with my mom and grandparents for all of my life. Thus meaning that I can save some of my money, towards when I can buy a house on my own. They’ve been helping pay for lots of my expenses through the years, so I’m happy to give back to them. It’s always important to give back to and assist others in their time of need, especially because when you need help, they will be willing to lend you a hand as well.
