12 Simple Tips to Help Eliminate Gluten from Your Diet


1. Choose gluten-free grains. (Quinoa, Brown Rice, Oats, Buckwheat)

- Buckwheat is grain-like and naturally gluten-free

2. Look for a gluten-free certification label.

3. Eat more produce.

4. Clean out your pantry and eliminate all foods with Gluten

5. Avoid gluten-containing beverages. (Ex: Some pre-made smoothies, beer, & milkshakes )

6. Bring your own food.

7. Eat more nuts and seeds. (Cashews, Almonds, Peanuts, Pistachios, pumpkin Seeds, Walnuts, Pecans, Chia Seeds etc...)

8. Know the different names for wheat.

(Rye, Barley, Millet, Flour, Triticale, Bulgur, Semolina, Spelt, Frumento, Wheat Germ, Wheat Starch, Durum, Spelt)

9. Limit processed food.

10. Cook more meals at home

11. Avoid Gluten- Containing Condiments: Anything that acts as a stabilizer or thickener (BBQ Sauce, Soy sauce, Marinades, Teriyaki Sauce, Gravy, Worcestershire sauce, Salad Dressing etc...
