I smile everyday, because life is to short to frown. It’s important to change the world, with one smile at a time. “Another day another Struggle”, said Biggie. My voice is my power There is no end, only new beginnings I am going to use my voice today, to tell a story. Coloured individuals, are the most judged people. Appearance matters. If a black person goes to the store, the store owner will watch them and call them out for something they are not doing, or they will follow them around. We are judged solely because we are taught of as dangerous. We could be doing our own business and not caring what other people say, but there will always be at least 2 eyes on us no matter where we go. I’ve seen it with my own eyes, as I have been in this very position. If a black person and a white person goes to the hospital at the same time … who do you think will get seen first? The white person of course. They will get seen, and checked out, before I even get a blood test. I have been in this very predicament. There are various racial and ethic disparities in treatment. As both people will receive different treatment. No matter how much pain the black person is in, they will get questioned more. The Healthcare system is failing Black people. Free healthcare sounds good, yeah. But not when you aren’t getting the help you need. If a black man goes to the hospital, with baggy clothes, they will take their time to help him out. They will assume, that he is there to get drugs. We are seen as a minority, and we face various of challenges, but that shouldn’t stop us. Every Valley has a peak. Change is bound to happen. If you stop chasing a dream, you will never get there. You can’t be on top Forever, sometimes you just have to come down. January 10th 2020
